St. Louis is often referred to as the “Gateway to the West,” and it has an important role in the history of the US. As such, there is a lot to do in the the city, from visiting landmarks like the Gateway Arch to stopping by the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, so, hop in your car and see the many things to do in St. Louis.
According to US News, one of the top things to do is to see Forest Park. Ranked among the most popular locations, this 1,300-acre park is considerably larger than New York City’s famous Central Park. You can visit the zoo, golf course, and the museums along the way. For anyone who’s never been, the Forest Park and its gardens are a must.
Next, check out the Gateway Arch. The Arch may be a tourist destination, but there’s good reason for that. As the largest free-standing arch in the world and the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere (it’s about 630 feet tall). Built as a monument to westward expansion, the Arch was designed by Eero Saarinen. You can even ride to the top for an aerial view.
Finally, the Anheuser-Busch Brewery is great for adults. Yes, you get samples; however, there’s more to the brewery than just the beer tasting. You can see the famous Clydesdales and learn about how this classic brew is made.
These are just some of the affordable—if not free—things to do in St. Louis that everyone can enjoy. We at South County Autos are proud to serve the location, and we hope everyone will take time to explore the Gateway to the West.
